On December 30, 2021, the Marshall Fire became the most destructive fire in Colorado history, destroying more than 1,000 homes across Boulder County, and forcing evacuation orders for Louisville, Superior, and Broomfield. In the following weeks, our community came together and donated hundreds of pieces of gear, as well as $8,500 worth of cash donations to support those impacted by the fire.

GEAR DONATIONS

Climbing gear donations were accepted at all of our gyms and shuttled to Louisville/Boulder for those who lost gear. Our community came together and donated hundreds of climbing shoes, chalk bags, and even winter jackets. We also received gear donations from Butora and FrictionLabs. One member who was affected by the fires said, “My family and I lost our home in the Marshall Fire… getting back to doing the normal things makes a world of difference.”

CASH DONATIONS, MATCHED BY THE SPOT

In all of our gyms, we encouraged “add-to” or “round-up” cash donations. Our community donated thousands of dollars, which we then matched for a total of $8,500, donated to ColoradoGives and the Boulder County Community Foundation.

If you've been affected by the fires, don't be shy. Please reach out to DHowley@TheSpotGym.com if you need any additional support.
