As a long-time Spot member, Chris is a natural fit for our front desk staff. He gives great beta, and is among the few hardy climbers that brave Flag during the summer. During his free time he tutors at-risk youth. Say hi next time you see him!

Why did you join the team at The Spot?
I learned everything I know about climbing either inside this building or climbing outside with people I met inside this building. I’m excited to share that passion with everyone else who comes through!
What do you love about working at The Spot?
I love the opportunity to be a part of such an iconic piece of the climbing community. It’s an amazing place to learn and get better.
Why do you climb?
There is no other athletic activity I’ve found that satisfies me mentally the way climbing does. It’s completely addicting. Bouldering is equal parts physical and mental.
Where do you hope to be in 5 years?
As long as I’m having fun and climbing I don’t care where I am or what I’m doing. In the words of the late Mitch Hedberg, ‘I’m sick of following my dreams. I’m just going to ask them where they’re going and meet up with ’em later.’
Anything else you’d like to tell folks?
The community is what makes The Spot such a special place, so feel free to come up and introduce yourself! I give great beta.
